Lela E. Johnson is an associate in Rebecca L. Palmer Law Group’s Family Law and Estate Planning practices, where she supports the firm’s commitment to client-centered advocacy during life’s most significant transitions. In her role, Lela takes a proactive approach to client representation and counseling, as well as legal research, case preparation, and court and procedural compliance, ensuring matters move forward swiftly with clarity, whether a client is navigating divorce and parenting issues or planning ahead to protect family and assets.  

Johnson has an extensive background in estate planning, which complements the firm’s holistic approach to family law by addressing the legal and practical decisions that frequently arise alongside or after changes in marital or parental status. Working collaboratively with the team, Lela helps position clients for long-term stability and a clear framework by aligning legal outcomes with longer-term planning, such as updating wills, trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives, and beneficiary designations following a major family change. Additionally, Lela supports clients with foundational estate planning guidance that frequently intersects with family law, helping individuals and families plan proactively, reduce uncertainty, and protect what matters most as circumstances change. 

Lela received her J.D from Howard University School of Law and her B.S.B.A. in Management and Marketing from the University of South Carolina. Lela expands the team’s reach through her professional proficiency in Spanish. She is also actively involved in Florida legal communities as a member of The Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, Tax Section, and International Law Section, reflecting her commitment to staying current on the issues that often overlap between family law outcomes and estate planning needs.
