RLPPhotoAttorney Rebecca Palmer who heads the firm’s Family & Marital Law practice discussed why stay-at-home mothers should consider postnuptial agreements on Fox 35 News Orlando. Attorney Palmer cited a rise in postnuptial agreements in the past few years and says that for many stay-at-home mothers and stay at home fathers trying to regain their footing after a divorce is not that easy. She comments that most people don’t want to think about divorce when they are married, but if a spouse decides to give up their career and make changes, they might want to think about it. “You can make plans about the kids, money, assets, property, business and more in a postnuptial agreement, even infidelity,” says Palmer. “Another time to think about it is if you have a family business and you never intended for that business to become part of your spouse’s financial future. You can carve that out and only have one specific issue in a postnuptial agreement.”

Palmer has a broad background in providing alternative dispute resolution, general litigation, and collaborative law issues for domestic disputes for nineteen years. Her matters range from pre-marital agreements, divorce, and adoptions to difficult dissolutions, complex financial issues and custody cases. A Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator, she is experienced in all methods of case resolution, including mediation, arbitration, facilitation and negotiations to serve individuals as well as businesses.
