Cathleen Winter is an attorney with the Rebecca L. Palmer Law Group. She focuses her practice in family law, including areas concerning divorce, alimony and spousal support, child support, custody and visitation, modification proceedings, paternity, prenuptial agreements, and postnuptial agreements. Cathleen understands the value of resolving a case amicably when possible and works hard to meet that goal for her clients. 

Cathleen graduated cum laude and earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminology from the University of Florida in May 2010. Thereafter, she worked as a family law paralegal for three years gaining extensive experience before returning to the University of Florida in 2013 to pursue a law degree. 

While at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, Cathleen obtained certification from the Florida Board of Bar Examiners to become a Certified Legal Intern with the Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Clinic where she represented clients in domestic violence matters. Additionally, she became a Certified Legal Intern and an Advanced Certified Legal Intern with the Family Advocacy Clinic, where she represented clients in family law mediations, hearings, and trial. Cathleen also worked as a legal extern for General Magistrate Samuel Stafford in the Family Law Division of the Eighth Judicial Circuit Court in Gainesville, Florida, where she became more experienced in issues relating to child support enforcement. 

Cathleen graduated cum laude and earned a Certificate in Family Law and her Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Florida Levin College of Law in May 2016. While at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, Cathleen received a Book Award for Family Law Policy as well as a Book Award for the Intimate Partner Violence Assistance Clinic. 

Cathleen was recognized by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys for exceptional and outstanding client service and was listed as the 10 Best Attorneys in Florida in 2018. Cathleen was also selected to the 2020 Florida Rising Stars list. Each year, no more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the state are selected by the research team at Super Lawyers to receive this honor. Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. Cathleen also received a 2021 Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch recognition for her work in Family Law. Cathleen was further recently listed as one of Orlando Family Magazine’s Awesome Attorneys in Family Law for 2021. Awesome Attorneys is an annual list of leading lawyers in the Greater Orlando area as chosen by peers and Orlando Family Magazine readers. 

Cathleen is a member of the Florida Bar, the Orange County Bar Association, the Central Florida Family Law Inn of Court, and the Greater Orlando Asian American Bar Association. She is also fluent in Mandarin Chinese. In her spare time, she enjoys interior decorating and loves to travel.
