Celebrating Daughter’s Day with Purpose
In a column published on 9/26 in the Daily Business Review, Family Law Attorney Rebecca Palmer and Managing Partner of the firm, offers suggestions for celebrating National Daughters Day.
“You can instill confidence and resilience in your daughter as no one else can,” writes Palmer. “Encouraging her to chase her dreams—no matter how quirky or offbeat—helps build her self-worth and teaches her that being authentically herself is what matters most.”
Palmer advises bringing your daughter to speak to the women in your life who have helped shape you. This could be anyone who plays a significant role in your life or hers such as a godparent, aunt, community activist or close family friend.
“The way you show love, compassion, and respect sets the standard for how they’ll treat others—and themselves,” Rebecca writes. “And if you’re a mom to both sons and daughters, teaching your boys to appreciate and respect women is just as important. One day, they might have daughters of their own, and wouldn’t it be nice to see them raising strong, kind, and empowered women?”
