florida divorceIn a column published on 9/3 in Law.com, Family Law Attorney Rebecca Palmer, is quoted in an article by Legal Education Reporter, Christine Charnosky, about how law schools are beginning to prepare their students to incorporate AI as the tool starts to create a sharp influence on the legal profession. Institutions such as Suffolk University Law School and the University of California, Irvine, have begun paving the way for other schools by integrating AI tools into their coursework, including legal writing and research.

Charnosky provides several statistics to highlight the increased use of AI tools. She states, “…as family and marital attorney Rebecca Palmer recently noted in a column published on Law.com, a recent McKinsey & Co. Report shows that 92% of companies plan to increase their AI investments over the next three years.”

The article also highlighted pertinent concerns over bias, accuracy, and confidentiality of these tools and the need to approach integration with caution. This is an important alert that Rebecca agrees with and has also discussed in her article, “Leveraging Tech: Building and Strengthening Client Trust in the Digital Age,” surrounding the use of AI for legal professionals. As firms are becoming more receptive to AI, law schools are working to equip their students with the necessary skills to succeed.
