best divorce attorney in orlando

Cheers to our illustrious Founder and Managing Partner, Rebecca Palmer, as we celebrate not only her birthday but also three successful decades as a practicing attorney in Florida! Over her 30 years working in family law, Rebecca has been an unceasing advocate for her clients, meeting every challenge with legal expertise and serving each client’s unique needs. She continues to bring to her work a winning combination of sparkling personality, professional acumen, and a commitment to her community that is the very definition of being #HereForYou. In honor of her 30 years as an attorney, we toast Rebecca and share some of our leader’s incredible accomplishments as she continues to inspire and set the bar for family law.

Rebecca first learned the value of serving others early on, thanks largely to her father, a Presbyterian minister who served congregations in California, Nebraska, Scotland, and Florida. Rebecca absorbed from her father the importance of being kind to others, listening when they had concerns, and gently offering the right amount of advice—all skills she would parlay into a thriving legal career. Rebecca also credits her mother with instilling in her a strong ethic: After raising four children, Rebecca’s mother not only went back to school to earn a PhD, but she also became a Florida State Facilitator of Education. In turn, Rebecca now inspires others to seek out ways to better themselves through education.

While in law school at Stetson University College of Law, Rebecca worked at Gunster and Harter Secrest & Emery. She also interned for a public defender’s office and for fellow Stetson Law alum Judge Elizabeth A. Kovachevich. In addition to embarking on her legal career, Rebecca was also refining her natural skills as an empath and her ability to act as an ally to clients who often deal with some of the most challenging times in their lives.

As a partner at a large firm, she led a robust Family Law Practice Group before starting her own firm, the Rebecca L. Palmer Law Group, in 2017. While based in Orlando, the firm now serves clients throughout Florida, advising on family matters such as child custody arrangements and shared asset distribution. Rebecca’s high-profile clients have included Elin Nordegren during her divorce from Tiger Woods. Never one to rest on her considerable laurels, Rebecca continues to demonstrate the value of further education exhibited by her parents, taking on additional responsibilities to become a Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator.

Rebecca is active in her community thanks to her advocacy on behalf of the Orlando Young Professionals and Central Florida Association of Women, serving as president of both organizations and ensuring that young women and promising budding attorneys receive proper mentorship. Rebecca also passes on her legal knowledge by teaching family law, legal ethics, business law, and other subjects to students at Emory, the University of Central Florida, Barry University, Southern College, and her alma mater, Stetson. She has been appointed several times to Orlando’s Art Advisory Board. She is listed on the 2025 Best Lawyers® List and has been consistently listed on the Super Lawyers® List for 17 years.

Rebecca enjoys spending time with her husband and two children. She also continues adding to the conversation by authoring legal articles, speaking at conferences, and appearing on Fox 35 Orlando.

Even after 30 years of legal practice, Rebecca continues to meet each obstacle on behalf of her clients and continues to lead our firm by example. Such is Rebecca’s pleasant, open-hearted manner that her clients often become friends. Please join us in wishing her an incredibly happy birthday. Here’s to her many accomplishments yet to come!
