A client’s marriage is dissolved and the parties are officially divorced after a judge enters a Final Judgment. The court has to find the marriage, “irretrievably broken”, strange words for what was once a bond of love. We know the emotions our clients feel when they first find out their divorce is final can vary from a celebration to many, many tears.
The date a client’s divorce is finalized becomes another important benchmark in his or her life. They are about to start a new chapter in their lives, sometimes regretfully and sometimes thankfully.
